My Friend Anger is the third of fifteen books in the series Our Emotions are Our Friends.
This is a well written and colorfully illustrated book that demonstrates how anger works is social contexts and how to mitigate it. The focus is on kids, ages 3-5, but the concepts apply to older persons as well. It is structured in two parts. The first, aimed at kids, is a story describing a set of events involving a meeting between two parties with anger on both sides. The second part, aimed at adults, offers practical advice on how to understand and implement principles that allow an adult to mitigate the effects of a kid’s anger. The lesson in both is that it’s counter-productive to resist another’s anger with one’s own. The solution is to use patience and understanding to identify its underlying cause, and deal with that. This book provides information that will be useful to adults and kids both.

Thoughtful and Insightful
My Friend Anger is a beautifully crafted children’s book that helps kids understand and navigate one of the toughest emotions they face. Through the gentle story of the kind witch Ida and her fiery friend Anger, young readers are shown that anger isn’t something to fear or hide — it’s something to understand. The adventure with the angry dragon is engaging and relatable, offering an age-appropriate way for kids to see how small frustrations can grow and how they can calm them down.

Short but impactful!
A very short story about addressing Anger, represented here as a fiery red ball, and the effect it has on others. The illustrations (probably AI) are very well done in great detail. The list of examples at the back of the book are educational and helpful to parents to understand their children’s outbursts of anger and anxiety.

Brilliant books
The book’s really helpful—Lucas (he’s 4) used to have trouble with anger. Thanks to this book, now he says he’s a dragon and roars. I can even start a conversation with him like, ‘A dragon can roar, but it can’t hit others,’ and stuff like that.

Brilliant book
Loved the book! Bright, beautiful illustrations, simple text, and a clear story about what to do when you’re angry. My 4-year-old got hooked right away, and the game at the end helped her really experience the emotion. Highly recommend!

Lovely book
My son’s favorite book in the series—just happens to have his favorite dragons and lightning all in one! And the game where he gets to follow the dragon’s path? Pure excitement!

My Friend Anger is important to develop understanding of the emotion in your child.
My Friend Anger is a children’s book by Yassya Lil. Part of a six-book series on emotions, this particular book takes aim at the emotion of anger and how it is important to develop understanding of the emotion in your child. The story is about a witch named Ida, her friend Anger and a fire breathing dragon. Using conflict resolution, Ida finds the source of the dragon’s anger and helps the dragon. The Parent’s Notes section of the book gives great instructions and tips on how to help your little one cope with anger issues in early development. Good work Yassya.

Interesting Idea, but not for everyone
I liked the idea, but I’m not totally sure all kids will be into it. The illustrations are kinda unusual, might not be for everyone. Overall, the book could be helpful for little ones starting to figure out their emotions.

It is ok
This story has a nice message, but it felt like it was missing something. There could have been a few more pages to really give the story some more substance, and really drive home the message too. Overall, it is ok.

Good message, but needs some additional editing
I like the message this story sends and the pictures are colorful and engaging. I also like the additional information for parents about anger. However, the story is very simple and doesn't flow all that well. I wondered why anger followed the witch from the beginning. Also, after meeting the dragon, the text keeps saying friends, rather than the friends. For example -"Friends gave it to the dragon..."

Okay for 3-8yo
The story itself was good enough, but missing substance. Anger is a red ball and always angry, while the dragon is also angry, it lost its amulet and is burning everything down. The flow of the book wasn't particularly good, though the concept was nice, and I liked the use of a nice witch as the main character. It's so-so and I rate it 3.5 stars.
